Make the Hereafter your true purpose

“On ne sait même pas quand on va partir, et on ne fait rien pour l'akhira.”

The khateeb, at 14:25

In one sentence

Because worldly life is temporary and a test, believers should make the Hereafter their true purpose by regularly remembering Allah, death, judgment, and orienting their time and companions accordingly.

Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that life in this world is temporary and that our real destination is the everlasting Hereafter. School, work, money, family, and a home can be good parts of life, but they are not the reason we were created. He explained that faith naturally rises and falls, so we should keep returning to remembrance and reminders instead of expecting constant spiritual intensity. We can protect a daily moment for remembering Allah and choose friends, a mosque, or a trusted teacher who help us remember the Hereafter. Since no one knows when they will die, the wise response is to give the Hereafter a real place in our schedule today.

  1. What is one worldly goal you have, and how could you keep it in its proper place?
  2. What helps you remember Allah when you get busy with school, work, or screens?
  3. What small family habit could give us a daily moment to think about the Hereafter?
