Allah does not abandon the hurting
“The one who is there for you all the time is going to be there in the future.”
In one sentence
Surah ad-Duha teaches that Allah does not abandon people in seasons of loneliness and delay, and that receiving His mercy obliges them to extend care to the vulnerable and oppressed.
The khutbah in 7 steps
- Introduces Surah ad-Duha as comfort for people who feel abandoned, delayed, or unheard.
- Recounts the Prophet’s hardship and the pause in revelation before Allah reassured him.
- Interprets night and morning as recurring seasons, promising that darkness is purposeful and relief will come.
- Uses the Prophet’s past as evidence of Allah’s prior care and future provision.
- Turns comfort into mission: protect orphans and vulnerable people, respond gently to petitioners, and share Allah’s blessings.
- Applies that mission to suffering people in Gaza and other conflict zones, urging listeners not to look away.
- Closes by calling believers to carry others’ pain and pray for relief for the Ummah.
