Try this week
Make taqwa central, speak truthfully, and review what you are preparing for the Hereafter.
Before reciting, seek sincerity, make wudu, brush your teeth, sit somewhere clean, face the qibla, seek refuge from Shaytan, and say Bismillah except before Surah Tawbah.
Recite with tartil, ponder the meaning, and pause at promises to ask Allah and at threats to seek refuge from punishment.
Memorize what you can, recite regularly, understand the meaning, remember Allah, remain humble, and avoid arrogance.
Do not abandon the Quran; bring children to Sunday school and participate in mosque programs.
Consider supporting an orphan, contributing to the masjid, and remembering people in Gaza through the designated donation box.

For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that the Quran is Allah's word, sent to Prophet Muhammad through the angel Jibreel. The khateeb described it as guidance, light, mercy, and a way to distinguish truth from falsehood. He encouraged us to approach recitation with sincerity and cleanliness, and to pause and think about the meaning instead of only saying the words. He also reminded us to remember Allah, be humble toward the poor, and stay away from arrogance. He spoke about the Quran's rewards and its ability to soften our hearts, encouraging us to keep it part of our lives.

  1. What could help you think about the meaning when you read or listen to the Quran?
  2. When could we make a little time for the Quran together this week?
