For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that, as Ramadan approaches, we can begin building the habits we want to carry into it. Its main lesson is that dua, speaking directly and honestly to Allah, is a central form of worship. Allah is always near, and a sincere request for something good is never ignored, even when the answer comes differently or later. We are encouraged to bring both small needs and great hopes to Allah, including asking for the highest level of Paradise. This week, we can make regular, honest duas for our hearts, our daily lives, and our future with Allah.

  1. What is one small or large thing you would like to speak to Allah about this week?
  2. How would you explain the difference between getting an answer immediately and receiving a better answer later?
  3. What is one good thing you could start practicing now before Ramadan?
