Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that this life, the dunya, is temporary, while our home in the hereafter lasts. Wanting more possessions can keep us feeling unsatisfied, but making the hereafter our priority helps us find contentment. He explained that when we die, our family and wealth return home, while our actions stay with us. He also made clear that we should stay active and make an effort in life, using what we have to support worship and dedication to Allah. As a family, we can put this reminder into practice through good deeds, generosity, and asking Allah not to make worldly things our biggest concern.

  1. When have you wanted something new soon after getting something you really wanted?
  2. What good deed could we make time for together this week?
  3. How could we use some of what we have to help someone else?
