Prepare for Jannah through obedience

“Our final reward, that final destination that we're looking for is Jannah.”

The khateeb, at 14:11

Because worldly provision is decreed but the Hereafter is not, Muslims should prepare for Jannah through obedience, righteous companionship, dhikr, Sunnah, and lawful living.

For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that everyone faces tests, but Jannah is the destination that gives our struggles meaning. He described Jannah as beyond anything we can imagine and said righteous friends, dhikr, obedience to the Prophet, and following the Sunnah help us prepare for it. Worldly provision is decreed, so we should work honestly without stealing while giving serious attention to the Hereafter. He also asked the community to remember Muslims facing suffering, including Palestine and Gaza, in our duas.

  1. What is one hardship you can face differently if you remember Jannah?
  2. Who is a righteous friend you can encourage or learn from?
  3. What is one act of dhikr or Sunnah you will practice this week?
