For the dinner table

Shaykh Yasir Qadhi reminded us that time is more precious than money because we cannot bring back an hour once it has passed. He encouraged us to use our time to learn beneficial things, put them into practice, help others, and keep doing these things throughout our lives. The value of our time comes from how we use it, not simply how long we live. We can build our days around prayer and make time for our responsibilities, relationships, and halal fun while watching out for aimless scrolling. As a family, we can gently reflect each evening on how we spent our day and choose something worthwhile to do tomorrow.

  1. What is one thing you would enjoy learning this summer, and how could you use it?
  2. Who could benefit from something you already know how to do?
  3. What could we do together tomorrow that would make good use of our time?
