For the dinner table

The khateeb welcomed the new Hijri year by reminding us to return to the Qur'an and use it to understand the world around us. He taught that powerful oppressors may dominate the news for a time, but Allah's justice, truth, humility, and goodness ultimately endure. When we see suffering, especially in Gaza, we should not become hopeless or numb. Like the Prophet, we should increase our supplication, keep hope in Allah, and continue doing good. The khutbah ended by praying for oppressed people and for relief, healing, and justice.
