Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

The khutbah says that difficult times can wake Muslims up from comfort and passivity. We should return to the Quran and Sunnah, remember Allah, and make our character at home and in public an example of mercy and honesty. The change begins with each person and family, then grows through service, da'wah, and stronger local relationships. We should use whatever abilities, time, and wealth Allah has given us instead of making excuses. The khutbah closes by praying for people suffering in Palestine, Sudan, Kashmir, and elsewhere, and asking Allah to make us people of action.

  2. Where could we serve or build a relationship in our neighborhood?
  3. How can we respond to upsetting news with both prayer and constructive action?
