For the dinner table

Mufti Bilal spoke about nearly two years of suffering in Gaza and urged us to keep caring for people facing oppression there and elsewhere. He reminded us that the Prophet and his companions faced severe hardship but continued to persevere and serve Allah. He encouraged everyone to make whatever lawful efforts they can, trusting Allah with the results. He also asked us to advise each other kindly, avoid division, and hold on to hope in Allah. Alongside helping others, he called us to strengthen our prayers, make daily du'a, live honestly, and repair family relationships.

  1. What is one way our family could help people who are suffering this week?
  2. How could you encourage someone to help without making them feel ashamed?
  3. Who could we make du'a for tonight, and what could we ask Allah to grant them?
