For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that this life is short and that true success means meeting Allah with a sound heart. The khateeb described the Day of Judgment and encouraged us to prepare through good deeds, good manners, and patience in obeying Allah. He explained that one of our hardest struggles is with the voice inside us that makes excuses or puts off doing what is right. Planning for school, work, and the future is fine, but we also need to prepare for the afterlife. He ended with a hopeful reminder: Allah does not ask us to be perfect, but to keep returning to Him and asking for forgiveness.
