Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah invited us to notice water as an amazing sign of Allah’s power and mercy. Rain brings life to dry land and provides for people, animals, and plants. When water is always available, we can forget how precious it is, so thanking Allah also means being careful not to waste it, even during wudu. The khateeb reminded us that water can also cause destruction, and taught us to ask Allah for beneficial rain and protection from harm. When it rains or we take a drink, we can pause to remember this blessing, thank Allah, and make dua.

  1. What is one way you used water today that you feel thankful for?
  2. What could we change at home to waste less water?
  3. Who would you like to make dua for the next time it rains?
