For the dinner table

Islam teaches us to honor our parents as part of worshipping Allah. Even when parents are wrong about something serious, we should not follow them into disobedience, but we must still treat them kindly. As parents grow older, we should be patient, lower our voices, meet their needs, give generously, and serve them ourselves. We should continue honoring them after death by praying for them and caring for the people they loved. Our children are watching how we treat our parents and may one day treat us the same way.
