For the dinner table

The khutbah encouraged us to treat Bismillah as a meaningful connection to Allah, not merely a phrase we say automatically. Remembering Allah’s power and mercy can give us hope when life feels difficult. It can also teach us humility, because every success is ultimately a blessing from Allah. We should keep working hard, use the prayers taught in the Quran during fear or distress, and remain grateful. The sermon ended with prayers for Muslims facing suffering in Gaza, Palestine, Iran, Yemen, Sudan, and elsewhere.
