Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that family should be a place of mercy and safety, not a contest over rights, pride, or personal freedom. We do not need to be perfect at home; we need to be gentle, present, accountable, and willing to apologize. Work and providing matter, but spouses and children remember our tone, attention, and example more than titles or income. We should preserve family ties while setting boundaries against abuse and injustice, and elders should help heal old conflicts. Parents deserve loving service, and simple choices today, putting away phones, listening, and helping, can become a path toward Paradise.

  1. What is one way we can show more mercy at home this week?
  2. What family responsibility can we do gladly instead of waiting to be asked?
  3. How can we make phone-free time feel special for our family?
