The khutbah teaches that our final words of faith are connected to how we live every day. Saying the shahada at death is not merely about repeating a phrase; it comes from nourishing faith throughout our lives. We nourish faith by remembering Allah, repenting after mistakes and following them with good deeds, and treating every person with good character. The khutbah also reminds us that faith can give people courage when they face persecution or oppression. We should ask Allah to make our final words la ilaha illallah and help us live by its meaning now.

  1. What is one good deed you could do after making a mistake?
  2. How can we show good manners to someone we disagree with?
  3. What helps you remember Allah during an ordinary day?
