Prayer marks us as the Prophet’s ummah

“Allah azza wa jal has given us the code for success in this world and in the hereafter.”

The khateeb, at 26:24

For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that salah is a gift and a conversation with Allah, and that understanding this can change how we approach it. He spoke honestly about struggling with prayer himself and reminded us that we can repent, renew our faith, and return to Allah. Prayer should help us make better choices, care for others, and stay away from falsehood. He also described how the Prophet, peace be upon him, will recognize his ummah through the brightness from wudu, giving us a reason to approach prayer with love and hope. As a family, we can patiently help one another prepare for prayer, learn about the Prophet’s life, and choose one sunnah to bring into our daily lives.

  1. What could help you feel more ready to talk to Allah when it is time to pray?
  2. How could something you remember in salah help you make a kind or honest choice tomorrow?
  3. What would you like us to learn together about the Prophet’s life?
