Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“Most of us don't know what it's like without having Islam. But talk to anyone who's come into Islam, they'll tell you it's the biggest blessing.”
“The month of Ramadan is an opportunity. It is a springboard for us to get better in our lives. But it's only good if we actually use it.”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
Imam Malek reminded us to thank Allah for another day of life and for the gift of Islam. He described Jumu'ah as a time to come together, reflect on our purpose, and care for our community. Prayer and other acts of worship are central, and treating people with dignity and respect is worship too. He encouraged us to prepare for Ramadan now and keep some of its good habits throughout the year. Through visiting the sick, checking on elders, and feeding people who are hungry, we can help others and seek Allah's help ourselves.
- What is one blessing you enjoyed today that you sometimes forget to thank Allah for?
- Who might appreciate a call or a conversation from us this week?
- What small good deed could we start practicing together before Ramadan?
