The afterlife is the true measure of success

For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that this worldly life is a test, not the whole story, and that the Qur’an helps us see reality clearly. Success is not only a nice car, house, job, or image; even blessings are tests, and what we give for Allah is what truly remains. We were encouraged not to be controlled by our desires or trapped in a victim mentality, but to take responsibility and turn to Allah with honest repentance. Real change grows through small, consistent actions, beginning with our obligations. We can face pain with patience and keep positive assumptions about Allah, knowing that we will meet Him and that the Hereafter is ahead.

  1. What is one worldly desire that can distract us from remembering the Hereafter?
  2. What small good habit could you practice consistently this week?
  3. How can you take responsibility when something goes wrong?
