Return to Allah and the straight path

“We are begging and calling and are desperate for something that we cannot achieve on our own.”

Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that every prayer includes a desperate request for Allah to guide us to the straight path. That path belongs to Allah and is shown through the Prophet’s example, so we should be grateful, obey as we can, and avoid turning disagreements into division. The imam warns that worldly ideas of progress can pull people along without justice or hope, while Islam keeps the door of return open through repentance. Parents should make Islam visible at home by living it, reading Qur'an, and learning with their children. We can follow the sixth-chapter guidance by honoring parents, protecting life, being honest and fair, and returning to Allah whenever we fall.

  1. What is one way we can ask Allah for guidance more sincerely?
  2. How can our family show that Islam is important in our daily life?
  3. What does returning to Allah after a mistake look like?
