For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that wanting love, attention, and recognition is part of being human. But when we measure our worth by other people's reactions, we can feel empty or unimportant when they overlook us. Through Surah Al-Insan, the khateeb invited us to reflect on our brief lives and choose gratitude to Allah. Gratitude means more than saying Alhamdulillah: it means recognizing His gifts and using them for good. He ended with the beautiful hope that Allah will acknowledge our efforts in Jannah, giving us a reason to keep doing good even when people do not notice.

  1. How do you feel when something you are proud of goes unnoticed, and what helps you then?
  2. What is one gift Allah has given you that you could use to help someone tomorrow?
  3. What good deed could you do quietly, hoping for Allah's appreciation?
