For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that death is near and that we prepare by living faithfully now. It encouraged regular prayer, Qur’an, guarding our tongues from backbiting, and resisting sexual temptation, with marriage presented as a halal path for young people. Parents were urged to make prayer and religious guidance part of family life rather than letting work and money take over. The speaker also encouraged sadaqa and prayed for people affected by wars in Gaza, Yemen, Somalia, and Sudan. We can leave with one small act of worship, one repair in our speech, and one act of care for our family or community.

  1. What is one way we can guard our speech from backbiting this week?
  2. How can our family make prayer and Qur’an part of our routine?
  3. What small act of sadaqa or help could we choose together?
