For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that we all need Allah and can turn to Him through du'a, or supplication. The khateeb shared stories of prophets calling on Allah during loneliness, hardship, illness, and longing for a child. He described Musa asking Allah for whatever good He might send and Yunus calling out from the darkness inside the fish. He encouraged us to keep hope in Allah and make du'a part of our daily routines, including around prayer and bedtime. He also reminded us to seek forgiveness and turn away from wrongdoing. As a family, we can bring our worries and hopes to Allah and remember others who are struggling.

  1. Musa asked Allah for whatever good He might send; what would you like to ask Allah for today?
  2. What could help you remember to make du'a at bedtime?
