For the dinner table

Today's khutbah explained that Allah's actions toward creation, creating, sustaining, managing, and showing mercy, reflect His perfect attributes. Our ability to receive divine mercy can grow through faith and good actions, like bringing a larger bucket to an ocean. The speaker remembered people killed and displaced in Lebanon and Palestine and urged us to see their suffering in its wider history. He taught that supporting the oppressed begins with sincere, broken-hearted dua and should grow into whatever further help we are able to give. We should ask Allah to relieve suffering while keeping our hearts truthful and compassionate.
