Allah describes marriage as a sign meant to bring tranquility, love, and mercy. The khutbah reminded us that marriage should not become a contest about wealth, culture, race, or lavish celebrations, but should be made easier when deen and character are sound. The examples of Ali and Fatimah, and of Bilal, showed how humility, dignity, and trust in Allah can guide families. We were encouraged to support young people who seek marriage and to avoid blocking them with unnecessary expectations. Our local imams are launching a confidential community initiative to help families make halal introductions, with decisions remaining with individuals and their families.
