For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah was about putting faith into action. The khateeb remembered people who sacrificed their lives to protect others and prayed for them. He told the story of Hagar, who trusted Allah and kept searching for water for her child even when she could not see where help would come from. He reminded us that trusting Allah goes together with making an effort, helping others, and working together. As a family, we can put that lesson into practice through small acts of service and kindness, trusting Allah with the results.

  1. What part of Hagar’s search for water stood out to you, and why?
  2. When something feels difficult, what could help you take a useful first step?
  3. Who could we help as a family this week, and what could we do?
