Build families of faith for Jannah

“The most important thing that you can do as a parent is leave your children with iman.”

The khateeb, at 8:34

In one sentence

Separation from family in this world is temporary, and Allah promises believers who hold onto iman that He will reunite them with their parents, spouses, and children in Jannah, so our duty is to build households of iman that secure that reunion.

  7. Hadith from Sahih Muslim: deceased children as the 'da'amees' of Jannah who will hold onto their parents

For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that this world slowly changes our homes, grandparents pass away, parents age, children grow up and move on, but Allah has promised the believers something beautiful: we can be reunited with our families in Jannah. Our faith turns painful separation into a temporary goodbye, not a forever loss. The best gift parents can give is iman, and the best thing children can do is become righteous and make dua for those who came before them. If we build homes of faith, patience, and prayer, we hope to enter Jannah together and meet our loved ones again with joy.

  1. What is one thing you love about our family that you hope we never stop doing together?
  2. What is one small thing we can do this week to help each other love Allah and His Messenger more?
  3. Who is someone you miss that we can make dua for together tonight?
