For the dinner table

Today’s reminder taught that sadaqa jariya means a good deed whose benefit keeps reaching people after we die. We can build that lasting good by teaching useful knowledge, helping others learn, providing water, supporting the mosque, raising righteous children, and serving people’s needs. Our children are a trust, so parents should be actively involved in helping them love Allah, His Messenger, and Islam. We should honor our parents now by spending time with them, calling them, giving them their rights, and asking forgiveness, while continuing to make supplication and seek forgiveness for those who have died. The message is to use the time we have for kindness and benefit before it becomes too late.
