For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that taqwa means staying aware of Allah and the consequences of our choices, not simply being afraid. Each of us has a circle of influence, so we should help loved ones and community members with sincere nasiha, or caring advice. Advice should be private, gentle, and suited to the person, never a way to show off. We should want good for others as we want it for ourselves, while comparing our worldly blessings with those who have less and our faith with those who are ahead. The imam closed by praying for our families, halal sustenance, and relief for people facing hardship, especially in Gaza.
