For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that Allah's mercy should make us gentle, loving, and forgiving people. Rude words, harsh tones, shouting, and backbiting can push people away and damage families. When someone treats us badly, we can pardon them, make dua for them, and ask Allah to soften hearts instead of answering harm with harm. We should also consult trusted people before making decisions and rely on Allah afterward. Finally, we can reduce phone and social-media time so we have more room for worship and remembrance.

  1. When is it hardest to lower your voice, and what could help you pause?
