The khutbah teaches that Allah’s choices are wise, even when we cannot yet see their purpose. Ibrahim and Hajar trusted Allah when Ismail was left in a barren valley, and that trust became connected to the Kaaba, Zamzam, and Hajj. We should remember that every Muslim is part of one ummah and treat others with responsibility and care. As we praise Allah and prepare for sacrifice, we should be sincere, patient, and considerate, waiting our turn and keeping our tempers. Our worship matters because of the devotion in our hearts, not only the outward act.

  1. When has patience helped you trust Allah during something difficult?
  2. How can our family show that other Muslims are part of our ummah?
  3. What does being patient during sacrifice look like in practice?
