Eid is a joyful reward after Ramadan, and Ramadan gives us a picture of the greater reward of the Hereafter. It taught us that worship, family time, and ordinary life can be balanced. We should honor our parents, make peace by offering the first salam, and protect Eid from missed prayer and sinful distractions. The khateeb also reminded us that every day of obedience can be a day of Eid. As we celebrate, we should remember Gaza and make dua for those suffering there.
