“Be grateful to Allah for what you have to take you to Jannah.”

The khateeb, at 24:47

For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that the beauty and enjoyment of this world are blessings, but they are also a test. We may enjoy food, family, homes, travel, and other good things as long as they do not lead us away from Allah, our responsibilities, or remembrance of Him. Lasting hope comes from good deeds such as helping others, praying, learning, teaching, raising our families well, and standing for justice and kindness. We should be grateful for what Allah gives us and use those blessings as a path toward the hereafter, rather than making worldly possessions our main goal. When worldly gain conflicts with what pleases Allah, we protect our akhirah and choose what is right.

  1. What is one blessing you enjoy that you could also use to help someone?
