For the dinner table

During the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, Allah gives us a special chance to draw near through good deeds, especially as Hajj and the Day of Arafah remind us of faith. The story of Ibrahim teaches that tawheed means worshipping Allah alone and freeing our hearts from desires, status, wealth, and other forms of approval that can control us. Ibrahim also modeled courage when he stood for truth despite being opposed by his society. We can follow his example by asking Allah to protect us and our children from shirk, including hidden forms we may not notice.
