For the dinner table

The khutbah acknowledged how deeply the Ummah is suffering under oppression, while reminding us that Allah does not let the deeds of the oppressed or the righteous be lost. It contrasted the fujjar, who cross every limit and exploit double standards, with the abrar, whose goodness includes fulfilling commitments, fearing the Day of Judgment, and caring for the needy, orphan, and captive. We were urged to give from what we love, including our time, without seeking praise, and to keep at least one good deed private between ourselves and Allah. The khutbah closed by asking us to become carriers of goodness and to pray for oppressed people in sujood.

  1. What is one way our family can be a carrier of goodness this week?
  2. Who deserves more of our time right now, and how can we give it?
  3. What good deed could you do quietly without telling anyone?
