For the dinner table

Today's khutbah teaches that mercy is at the heart of Islam. Allah sent the Prophet Muhammad as a mercy to all the worlds, and believers should make people feel safe through their words and actions. This mercy includes parents, neighbors, elders, children, animals, and even people who have harmed us. Islam also teaches us to care for our own bodies because they have rights over us. We can practice this message by apologizing when we cause harm, helping our neighbors, treating animals gently, and spreading peace.

  1. What is one way we can make someone feel safe with our words this week?
  2. Who around us might need extra kindness or help right now?
  3. How can we show mercy to ourselves while still taking responsibility?
