Sh. Jafar reminded us that choosing close friends is an important decision we make in everyday life. Like the pleasant scent of a perfume seller, a good friend's influence can reach us even in small moments together. He described five qualities to look for: remembering Allah, giving honest advice, helping us grow in faith and everyday life, protecting us when we are absent, and keeping us away from haram. He encouraged us to appreciate sincere reminders and hold firmly to friends who want good for us. Our friendships matter beyond this life, so we should choose righteous companions and work to become good friends ourselves.

  1. Who helps you remember Allah, and what do they do that helps?
  2. What could you say when people start making fun of a friend who isn't there?
  3. What is one good thing you could invite a friend to do with you this week?
