For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that charity is a shield from Allah’s displeasure and the Fire, even when the gift is very small. What matters is not only the amount but sincerity, sacrifice, and earning the money lawfully; Allah can multiply a small gift far beyond our calculations. We are encouraged to make generosity a daily habit instead of waiting for Ramadan or special occasions. Giving should also help people in distress, support community institutions, feed people, spread peace, and show neighbors that Muslims come to contribute. The sermon closes by reminding us that sincere spending does not diminish wealth and can bring people closer to Islam.

  1. How can we make sure our giving comes from sincere intentions and lawful earnings?
  2. How can our family show neighbors that we are here to give, not only to take?
