For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us to guard against three harmful habits: lying, breaking promises, and betraying trust. The imam explained that prayer and fasting should go together with honest, dependable behavior. He showed how truthfulness matters even in jokes and in the little things adults promise children. When a genuine difficulty stops us from keeping a promise, we should let the other person know instead of leaving them waiting. As a family, we can practice these lessons by speaking honestly, keeping our word, and caring for the responsibilities Allah has entrusted to us.

  2. What could you say if you realized you couldn't keep a promise?
  3. What responsibility could you take care of this week without being reminded?
