Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“Sometimes, you know, people, they give you very right statement, but they have bad intention.”
“We should not compromise the truth in our lives. You know, we are always tested that are we going to give priority to the truth over other things, over duniya or no, we are giving actually priority to the truth.”
“When there is the lack of Amanat, there is the lack of justice. You know, this is only example. In every aspect of life, we have to act upon the Amanat in order to achieve the justice.”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
Today’s khutbah remembered Imam Musa al-Kadhim and his refusal to surrender truth or accept humiliation. It taught us to control anger so anger does not control us. The Prophet’s mission was described as calling people to worship Allah and establish justice. Justice appears in everyday amanah, such as returning what we borrow, speaking truthfully, and treating family members fairly. In short, worship is not only prayer; acting justly is also worship.
- When is it hardest to tell the truth, and what could help us do it?
- What does it look like to control anger at home?
- What is one amanah we can honor this week?
