Prophet Nuh kept calling despite rejection
“The help of Allah comes to the people.”
Believers should persist in calling toward faith, trust Allah’s commands, judge actions with context, surround themselves with faithful people, and pair supplication with effort.

In the khateeb's words
“Rather, they should have looked at him and looked at the bigger picture, but rather they mocked at him and they continuously made fun of him.”
“This story shows us. that the help of Allah comes to the people.”
“Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala wants some effort from our side.”
For the dinner table
Today’s khutbah continued the story of Prophet Nuh, who called his people to faith for 950 years and kept trying until Allah told him that no one else would believe. Only then did he stop calling them and begin building the ark, even while people mocked him. We were reminded to look at the bigger picture before judging someone’s actions and to trust Allah’s wisdom. The ark also points us toward staying close to faithful people during our own struggles. Finally, asking Allah for help should be joined with sincere effort, just as Maryam was told to shake the tree.
- When have you learned that there was more context behind someone’s action?
- Who helps you stay close to Allah when life is difficult?
- What action can you take after making a dua?
