For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that painful news and hostility can leave us feeling discouraged, but the Prophet Muhammad’s life and example offer guidance and hope. The khateeb encouraged us to learn his life story so we can better understand the Qur’an and put our love for him into practice. He also asked us to notice how his example shapes our prayers and everyday choices. When speaking with people of other faiths, he encouraged us to begin with shared beliefs and values, including love for our neighbors. As a family, we can keep learning about the Prophet and look for small ways to show that love through our actions.

  2. What shared value could you talk about with a friend of another faith?
