Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that good character is central to living our faith every day. The khateeb encouraged us to feed people, speak kindly, and make sure others are safe from our words and actions. He especially emphasized kindness at home, where patience with our families shows the quality of our character. He warned against backbiting, lying, looking down on others, envy, and hatred. He also encouraged forgiveness and maintaining family ties, reminding us that good character carries great weight on the Day of Judgment. We can ask Allah to improve our hearts and choose one small act of kindness to practice together this week.

  1. What kind words could you say tomorrow that might make someone’s day?
  2. How could you help change the subject when friends start talking badly about someone?
