For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that the Prophet Muhammad showed mercy and respect to everyone, not only believers. He forgave people who had harmed him, joined ordinary work, and brought people together without giving special privilege to the rich or powerful. We were also reminded to remember the suffering of Hamza and Husayn and to keep compassion for people facing oppression today. As a family, we can practice this by speaking gently, sharing responsibilities, forgiving where appropriate, and praying for those in need.

  1. When is forgiveness difficult, and what might make it possible?
  2. How can we show respect to someone different from us?
  3. What responsibility can we share without seeking praise?
