Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“The bird must leave the nest and once they leave their nest and put forth the work, put forth the effort, while relying on Allah in totality, Allah will provide for them.”
“as bad as it may get economically, we need to hold on to the promise of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.”
“Your provision, your rizq, your sustenance is my responsibility. So seek it with me, ask me, and make sure you live your life in a way that you have full fulfillment of Allah's promise towards us.”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
Today's khutbah reminded us that rizq means the provision Allah gives us. We should work, study, and pursue opportunities, but trust Allah rather than taking haram shortcuts or fearing that generosity will make us poor. Allah is powerful, generous, and wise: He can provide in unexpected ways, never runs out, and knows what each person needs. This week, we can ask Allah for provision, seek it through halal means, give when we can, and trust His promise.
- What is one way we can work hard and still rely on Allah?
- When might someone choose a haram shortcut, and what could a halal choice look like?
- How can we practice generosity this week without being afraid we will run out?
