Keep wealth in your hands, not your heart
“The money that was always meant to be in your hand seeps into your heart.”
In one sentence
True success is not accumulating wealth but living by Allah’s guidance, keeping wealth in one’s hands rather than one’s heart, and preparing for the Hereafter.
The khutbah in 6 steps
- Urges believers to view life through the Qur’an and Sunnah.
- Redefines success as faith, obedience, worship, purification, and entry into Paradise.
- Explains that wealth and desire are permissible, but dangerous when they displace Allah in the heart.
- Applies the principle to prayer, family duties, ethical business, and avoiding deception.
- Contrasts investing in the temporary dunya with building the Hereafter.
- Closes with self-examination, prayers for oppressed Muslims, and supplication.

“the issue is when the money that was always meant to be in your hand seeps into your heart”
“you have Allah you have everything doesn't matter what comes with it you don't have Allah you have nothing”

The khutbah teaches that real success is not measured by money, possessions, or status. Wealth itself is not bad; it becomes harmful when it makes us neglect prayer, family, honesty, or our relationship with Allah. Worldly life is temporary, so we should use what we have responsibly while building our life in the Hereafter. People may have very little materially and still possess deep contentment through faith. Each of us can ask whether our choices show that Allah is truly first in our lives.
- What do you think success means, and how might Allah’s definition be different?
- How can we use money without letting it control our hearts?
- What is one choice this week that could put Allah first?
