For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah taught that the Prophet Muhammad was sent to perfect good character. Character appears in honesty, kindness, humility, justice, and how we treat people when life is hard. We should bring our words and actions into agreement, leave lying and pointless arguments, and listen to the conscience Allah placed in our hearts. We should not give in to despair, because Allah remains in control and trials can help us grow. Our family can begin by choosing one truthful, patient, or generous action this week.

  1. When has one of your choices changed how someone else felt or acted?
  2. What can you do when you feel discouraged instead of giving in to despair?
  3. Which good character habit would you like to practice this week?
