Faith requires sacrifice and careful planning
“The commitment to this religion requires some level of serious commitment to prove our faith before Allah.”
The Hijrah teaches Muslims to sacrifice for faith, persevere without losing hope, plan carefully, rely on Allah after taking the proper means, and remain certain in His promises.

In the khateeb's words
“The commitment to this religion requires some level of serious commitment to prove our faith before Allah .”
For the dinner table
The khateeb shared lessons from the Hijrah, the Prophet Muhammad's migration from Makkah to Medina. The Prophet and his companions made difficult sacrifices to protect their faith, reminding us that following Allah sometimes means giving up something we want. Even through grief and rejection, the Prophet kept working and did not lose hope in Allah. He also planned carefully and gave others important roles, showing us that trust in Allah goes together with preparation and effort. The khutbah encouraged us to remain certain of Allah's promises, even when we do not live to see their fulfillment, and to bring these lessons into our own lives.
- What is one choice this week where you could put pleasing Allah ahead of convenience?
- When something feels discouraging, how could our family help you keep trying and remember Allah?
- What good thing could we plan together, and what job could each person take?
