For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that love for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, should become visible in how we live. The khateeb shared examples of Ibn Umar’s devotion and encouraged us to learn about the Prophet and follow his sunnah. He compared this life to a traveler’s stop along the way, reminding us to prepare for the hereafter and join our hope in Allah’s mercy with action. Following the Prophet includes worship and outward practices, as well as patience, gratitude, generosity, and kindness toward others. As a family, we can put these reminders into practice by helping at home, checking on our neighbors, and showing mercy when disagreements happen.

  1. What is one way you could show love for the Prophet through your actions this week?
  2. Who near us might need help or a friendly check-in, and how could we reach out?
  3. When an argument starts, what could help you pause and choose a kind response?
