For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah asked us to think about what success really means and to look to Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, as our example. The khateeb reminded us that the Sahaba were ordinary people whose love for the Prophet helped transform their lives. He encouraged us to learn about the Prophet’s character so that our love becomes something we practice in everyday choices. That can mean smiling, being patient during hardship, helping people who are struggling, and stepping away from harmful conversations. He also encouraged us to send salam and blessings upon the Prophet and to keep doing small good deeds consistently.

  1. How could you follow the Prophet’s example of smiling or being patient tomorrow?
  2. What would you like to learn about the Prophet’s character?
  3. What small good deed could we practice together every day?
